History of the family Rollin from Orvin
The "Survey of the lands belonging to the Church of Orvin in 1582" cites Jehan Rollan, whose name is also written in the same document as Rollin and Rollain. David Rollin left as a conscript with the Napoleonic Armies in 1808; wounded in 1813, he returned home and later was appointed Lieutenant of the Prefect of Courtelary. The family produced 4 lawyers.
The above information is taken from "La Seigneurie d'Orvin". Printed first at La Chaux-de-Fonds by Courvoisier printing house in 1923, it was printed a second time, courtesy of Mr. Eric Ferrat, Litho Prestige at Drummondville in Quebec, Canada in 1980.
